Doubt that seeing as Tividale has spare capacity. There aren't even many Stourbridge routes any more either.

To be fair, Whittle's have had it pretty easy for a fair while in Kidderminster, as First never put up much of a fight with them and allowed them to expand.

125 or 318 would be suitable from Kiddi

They have... first gave up fighting with them ages ago and simply handed over market share to them eg 1.

Arguably Whittle lost some of the market share too, e.g. the 10, 3 (until they restarted) and 5. They also used to operate the 197 and some tendered 2 journeys and lost those.

I too heard drivers talking about Kidderminster operating Stourbridge routes, indeed there have been quite a few Tividale drivers over here recently learning routes such as the 3, I think there is some truth in the rumour. Doubt Diamond would want to compete on the 125, it can't be the most lucrative route out there. I think I overheard the drivers talking about routes such as Stourbridge-Halesowen. In any case, running the 125 wouldn't require any dead runs to Stourbridge. Forgot about what I had heard about a week ago, had intended to post it here.

What I can't my head around is why Diamond have never half-inched the 297 (or indeed the 125) off Arriva & Whittle respectively reckon either would be a good asset to Diamond opinions?

winston

Stourbridge-Halesowen may mean Diamond might be planning to transfer the 142 from Tividale to Kidderminster?

KR depot isn't even at half capacity with the size of its operational fleet, so it would make sense to fill it where possible as the overheads wouldn't increase that much.

Sam   with regard to the 5 the route was  shortened . the bit that was taken of the 5 was added on to the 7 which whittles run anyway.  and
why whittles came of the 10 was the fact that. first changed there timetable to run just a few mins in front of whittles . and it was not paying
as when they changed there timetable   first did the  same  again

No Hansons do at present, but with the WCC cuts/changes anything could happen in Sept

Kidderminster update (02/05/14)

Had a walk up the bus garage this afternoon to have a look (outside the fence) and a few more scrap buses have arrived but I can confirm that Simon was correct with what he said as S405 JUA is officially VOR once again this again confirms what he stated a fortnight ago.

Kidderminster Update

Today VX54 MUC (Still in Barbie), KU52 RYN and LG02 FFE were noted inside the bays having work done. All looked routine, I presume VX54 MUC is being prepared for repainting as it has been in the garage for some time.

T71 JBA has been moved next to S378 TMB, which is being stripped for spares.

S405 JUA had an engineer working on it from a van today and is indeed VOR, although was noted in service at least as recent as 29/04/14 by me, and others as reported elsewhere.

Three new stored buses have arrived, making the total up to 13 at Kidderminster. They were:
T445 EBD (Black Diamond)
Royal Bath MPD (Unidentifiable but presumed to be one of V653/656/660 HEC) Lots of parts, seat bits, etc.  inside.
'The Eightes' livered Green and Cream Wessex Connect ALX200 Short. Had Stagecoach seats so I believe it is Y254 KNB. Looked to be in good condition so unsure why it is here?

VX54 MUP was parked up in the depot when I visited but all other Kidderminster allocated vehicles were in use today.
