Also my 48 from uni is a 48E to bearwood despite only running 9 minutes late? Surely could have carried on

The only vehicle I can see which was 9 minutes late at Bearwood is 4511 which was due there at 18:20 and got there at 18:29, then carried on in service, as did every other 48

Nope I caught a Gemini at 19:00 from uni and it was a 48E to bearwood, with the driver informing passengers every time a passenger boarded.

Should have been at uni station at 18:52

Found it. Because it wasn't due to have been in West Bromwich when you posted it hadn't got onto the finished journies page.
Driver left Terminus 21 late, was only 11 late by Bearwood, but if he didn't get to West Bromwich on time would have broken the RTA or had to park up mid route.

Driver couldn't have made up 10 minutes at that time of night I presume? Or had he have rang control at bearwood 11 minutes late would they have told him to carry on in service?

7PM isn't really late at night, they could just be buses coming off at the end of the daytime service. Since the frequency drops to every 20 minutes in the evening.
There are timetabled shorts on the 11A to Harborne, War Lane and Acocks Green in the evening. I often see the 11A's changing the displays to 11E Harborne/Acocks Green at Fox & Goose at about 6/7PM.
