No i remember now seeing one of Tonys photos a couple of years back of a metrobus on the 545 at Merry Hill. The 541 just went to Dudley and the 545 also got curtailed to Dudley

Personally i can't remember the 545 going there but I know the 541 used to because I used to catch it.

well, the 123 replacement between Bearwood and Perry Barr isn't doing to well, Some early morning and late journeys are withdrawn due to low patronage.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Me too. At least 6 times a week. The 53 was introduced during the Sandwell Bus Review, so obviously some people asked for a direct service between Londonderry & Merry Hill, me included

Well, for me, yes, as I've previously stated I use it at least 6 times a week, whereas previously I didn't have an option to Merry Hill, I don't understand why a route should go out of its way not to serve an area (Londonderry)

You call a curve around the Queen's head serving Londonderry??? It's just another useless turn

Yeah, that makes sense, it's only the main stop in the area. How many minutes does it actually add to the journey by serving Londonderry. 2-3 at best?

No, my point is that all these stupid twists and turns just keep passengers away and existing ones try to find alternative s

Did the old 123 not have enough twist and turns in it? The route ran from Perry Barr to Merry Hill, and is virtually the same route as the 53 with a few changes, I would've thought the change of operator would've encouraged people to use the route, as NXWM are the main operator in the West Midlands and people can now use their travel cards/passes. We may have to agree to disagree on this one, I'd rather the route were 2-3 minutes longer than having to find another way to travel to Merry Hill

I liked the old 123
92 minute journey - same regular drivers :-)
Usually busiest between Merry Hill & Blackheath then medium loadings to Pery Barer

There still isn't a reasonable replacement for the handsworth - lozells - aston section of the 123....
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

The 123 was re-instated with the slight diversion of serving the Queens Head.
