Do u mean the old 4 timetable before it got withdrawn or  in the 404E days

The 4 from Walsall was around :08 and :38 past the hour
The 4 from West Bromwich was :10 and :40 past the hour

The 404E was :24 and :54 from Walsall and :27 and :57 from West Bromwich running around 3 mins infront of NXWM and were much successful

Hope this is what you was after if not let me know and I'll try and remember.

Thanks for the info about the old 404E timetable and the 4 timetable in the evenings as well Ash.

Looking at a copy of the 404 running times when it was run by petes in the nineties-glad I managed to pick up a copy of this!-Ive got first bus from west brom 6:00 and first from walsall was 6:30.

In the evenings, last bus from walsall was at 17:52 and last from west brom was at 17:15 so a daytime only operation. Can't date this timetable other than saying its from about 96/97/98 or when they were based at chuch lane west brom instead of hill top. Interestingly, petes may have added a later operation after this time but the current diamond timetable compares favourably with this. Still think evening and sunday services would be popular-petes at this time didnt run it on a sunday. This is the only petes timetable for the 404 I have though so they may have ran later or on sundays after this was made. Dont know as it was a bit before my time!

Ash

Petes Travel only ever ran on the 404E monday to saturday and the saturday service use to finish around 15:30pm in the afternoon. The first batch of new buses for the 404E were W901-6JNF as it was every 10 minutes matching travel west midlands back then. When the service got upgraded to showcase status X631/2/4/6-9/41AKW were purchased and the onboard stop announcements were installed on the vehicles and the frequency was increased to every 8 minutes to match travel west midlands. W901-6JNF then moved on to the 401/2. Also just to add S771-3RNE were purchased for the 401E and rarely used anywhere else. At this time with Pete's Travel each driver used to 'have their own vehicle' each day you could guarantee the same driver to be on the same bus monday to saturday of which only one driver from that time remains with diamond and still on the 4 service and back then it was the driver of X639AKW. The rivalry on the 404E back then was intense with Pete's Travel and Travel West Midlands drivers blocking each other in at stops and overtaking anywhere and anytime possible just to get in front.

Thanks for the information Ash-though Ive got the saturday timetable as the same as the monday to friday-maybe it was later curtailed. Mine has a PVR of 8 so must datefrom when the AKWs were delivered-later than I thought!! Interesting about the large buses on the 401e which now has MPDs and also about how each petes driver had their own bus-good idea I think-and which driver is that out of interest?  And I like competition and the getting ahead-thats why petes is one of my favourite companies of all time!! Even BCC werent that competitive from memory-certainly not on the 64
