Considering how long the three ex-Dundee B10Ls have been at Acocks Green garage, this was the first time I managed to actually catch one today, operating on the 37 service this morning towards Birmingham. Sad to say that it could also be the last time, as the B10Ls days must be numbered at AG now.

Looks quite strange inside, with a mix of 'new' style upholstered seats, and 'old' orange grab-bars, which looked very faded by the front door! Still it made a change from the Omnilinks and Presidents, and it sounded engine-noise-wise like an old Metrobus.

Bye B10Ls, I'll hope you'll be treated well at your new garage!  :'(

I will really miss the B10L's when they go completely especially 1436. Most of the Voith's I have grown up with though so they are quite special to me :(

What a bus 1436 best B10L out there

Phil

1436 just seems to be different than all the other B10l's, espcially the Voith ones. Will be a great shame when there gone, but thankfully, still haging on to the 27 to keep out the scania's

I think its got a ZF box its definatly got more gears and a different retarder and its very quick! It would give an o405N a run for its money!

1431-1440 are all fitted with ZF boxes.

Just to add, I think that it's worth noting that they were all new to Coventry. I don't know why Coventry like to get the gearboxes opposite to the main fleet, i.e. ALX400s & Geminis!

I think you'll find that the original B10L's destined to become TWM 1431-1440 were actually diverted to Dundee, to become 7122-7141

1431-1440 are all still ZF though and are new to Coventry so I don't know what point you're trying to make.

I am very fond of Volvo B10L. I remember when new in late 1996 my first ride on 1404 on the 302 service.

And at Coventry on service 900 alongside leyland lynxes.

And Line 33 came a great livery which really stood out.

Then in 1998 your bus had some for 50Y.

I was 13 when first went on one and have grew up with them.
It's a shame no more was ordered instead of going for the Mercedes .

Now 17 years on I found them still a great bus to drive and ride on and they have served the West Midlands well. It's a shame none have been sold on for further use.

I'm pleased 7122 P122 KSL has gone for preservation

Would be great to see a TWM one

I will really
Miss them when there gone. Hope there would be a send off day for them
