I have a question for anyone really.

Yesterday I was on the 934 bound for WA, when two drunk men were abusing the driver on the 936 heading to Birmingham because they had O.F.D tickets, when my driver stopped, the two men then abused my driver ina unruley mannor before launching a can of beer at the bus and telling the driver to f*ck off and driver the bus. The abuse he gave the drive was horryifying never witnessed anything like it.

Just wondering what can happen to the two men for the abuse they gave the driver, if anything will actuly happen.

Unless its reported then nothing really.Have you tried reporting it? Anything like that should not happen and drivers shouldn't have to feel intimidated in anyway but the harsh reality is that this sort of thing happens all the while

I don't think its my job to report it, but I was just astonised by the ay the driver was treated. But we had a converstation about the perks of being a bus driver, but what amazed me is how he kept extremly cool throughout te entire incident, I know they have to but that was outstanding customer service

That is sadly why drivers sit behind plastic shields on the buses.

Were the police called out at the time or not? Most likely, if they weren't, it depends on if the driver bothers to report it, either to the depot and/or police. I imagine if it gets passed on to the police, they would download the CCTV, but in all likelihood not a great deal would come of it unless the culprits are easily identifiable. There are certain factors that would make the police take it more seriously (e.g. if the driver was subject to homophobic/racist abuse or threatened with a weapon for instance).

It is sad, but this sort of thing probably happens tens of times a day on the West Midlands bus network.

What happended

On the (WA) 69 bus in Wednesfield at 4:15, the two teenager "scumbags" attacked an elderly man. They had others with them. The driver did nothing and they thought it was funny to hit him. They're around 14 years old. The woman who reported this incident said: "The old man was ok, they shook him up as the lad (pictured) grabbed his arms after the old man asked them to be quiet. I was very upset with the driver when he said "I can't do anything love"."

A picture of the two teenagers.
