What 'new platinum X72'? There only seems to be you who knows anything about this, so spill the beans please!

A rumour, heard it a while ago. 72 cut operating between Chelmsley and Solihull only. Replaced by a Platinum X72 service, as the current 966 between Solihull and Chelmsley, then onto Birmingham City Centre.

I take rumours with a pinch of salt. There was no mention of an X72 in the initial consultation document.

Anyone can start a rumour. I heard a rumour that the X1 is to be extended to Wolverhampton replacing the 126, creating a 'super-route' between Wolverhampton and Coventry.  :-*

4651 seems to be making some great rear hub/diff reduction noises caught it on 11C from Erdington to the Fox, gives some of the old metrobuses run for their money in the noise stakes ;D ;D

Routes 71/72 are currently been diverted via Brays Road , Barrows Lane , Common Lane and Sheaf Lane due to a RTC at Cranes Park Road junction

4652 is on the 966 today. In Chelmsley Wood at about 11:00 going to Erdington and 15:30 going towards Solihull.

Also there is a poster on the wall of 6701 near were the ticket machine printer that says the first aid box is located behind the driver seat. Never seen that before.

6701 was or still is, one of the Tacho'd ones I believe hence it has to have these labels for the Private Hire work

They never have interworked. They have however shared boards so a 37 board becomes a 31 in the evening and a 31 board becomes a 5 in the evening. This allows the daytime 5's to return to garage as the relief point is further from the garage.

4253 is still at Acocks Green today. It was on the 1 outside the garage at 15:40.
