Don't see the big fuss around ADL vehicles. Yes would definitely agree their build quality isn't the best but the blame shouldn't directly go towards National Express who have obviously decided that this partnership is best for them

No it shouldn't go to NX, partly yes as they have a greed a contract which I imagine can't be altered meaning ADL can relax a bit as far a quality is concerned. But the blame should also go to ADL as they are the manufacturer if NX didn't test them then all sorts of accidents could of happened if the original ones went into ice

MMC being branded for the 37 today, can't remember the fleet number accurately but my gut says it was 2219.

They have already appeared on those routes in the past week

Also I know I have asked this before  but now will the 71/72 branded MMC's be delivered throughout August otherwise they may have to have 65 plate registrations otherwise

Still be 15 plates as they have already been registered. Even if some come in september but they should all be ready by end of august

I'm not overly impressed by adl quality, it seems cheap. Give me a Volvo anyday. Just comparing the two hybrids tells you a lot.

This is naive in the extreme.  Of course ADL and NX have contractual levels of quality and everything else.  To imagine the supplier 'can relax' is ridiculous, unless they want to face hefty penalties in the form of liquidated damages.

Yes, so much smoother and stronger build than any adl vehicle. You only need to look at the life of b6s and b10s for evidence.

I can't see mmcs lasting 15 years let alone 20.

Even Mercedes are better than adl. I'm sure many forum members agree. I am not hyped up with the mmc rubbish. Give me the choice between a pensnett trident on the 141 and a new mmc on the 9 I will opt for the trident every day.

Adl buses have got worse as the years have gone by.

I managed a ride on 2204 today. Here are a selection of overheard comments from passengers.
"Oooh, this is posh"
"It's brand new"
"It's run out of petrol"
"It's broken down"
"It's charging the batteries"
"Stupid bus"
"Stupid driver"

"All new cars and buses do this, it saves fuel"

The stop start will take some getting used to, it's very sudden when it cuts out, and to an untrained passenger, it certainly feels like a fault than intentional.

I haven't used the 72 as far as The Hunters Moon since the ex Dundee B10L's entered service. I noticed that city bound 72s use the island at Hunters Moon to make the turn into Chipperfield Road. I didn't notice this before. Is it a recent thing or have they been doing that for some time?

The 72's have been using the Hunter's Moon island for sometime now about 2 years I think but you still get the odd driver who will turn right straight down Chipperfield Road. Seen 2204 twice today both times on the Solihull run could of caught it the 2nd time but I had a 10 minute wait plus a 94 came first at Saltley Gate just knew a MMC was on that run both times I saw 2204 on Chipperfield Road gutted again lol.

Going to town tomorrow about 10am hopefully more MMC's will be on the 72 so I can actually ride on one sound great from the outside
