Honestly speaking, I like the fact that Acocks Green doesn't have any ADL or Dennis vehicles, I quite like them but it's also nice to see a garage a bit different from the others !

It's going to be interesting in a year or two to see if Tridents or B7TLs are favoured. I'm not sure which type other operators of both withdraw first. But this is in the AG thread - the only garage to have no Dennis or ADL products.

Isn't BY made up of Omnilinks only? Technically speaking, AG is not really the only garage (without ADL/Dennis buses) then, is it? Sorry. Had to get it out. :)

Considering I go past it every other day on the 97, you'd think I'd know to bring that !!

I hope these rumours aren't true. But inevitably, what with the 5 year ADL deal, AG are bound to get some sort of ADL crap. It'd be nice if they'd got some B9TL/E400s (AFAIK only one sold to Arriva?), when they were around. I wonder if you can get the B5TL with an Enviro body.

I must ask this seeing as it's come up but whats the visual difference between a Transbus Trident and a B7TL ALX400 ?! They look virtually identical to me.

Not a great deal, the rear grill to the engine compartment is the main difference offside on Volvo's & nearside on Tridents

ok thanks, so a B7TL has a larger flank grill than a trident, I just fail to see any difference, I used to think BC has easily the largest allocation of Tridents but apparently many of them are volvo's !

BC doesn't have any Volvo/ALX400s. The only ALX400s BC have are Tridents.

I believe the B7TL versions have two rows of seats before the staircase. The Dennis versions have just the one.

Or have I got that the wrong way round?

Sorry I've not been on a bus for 2-3 years now.

That is correct. An easy way to tell is the giant ugly grille next to the rear number display, as shown in https://www.flickr.com/photos/john-s-91/8202474313/

Although 4415-24 don't have this grille (and 4234 after its deroofing)

I must admit I did not know that. Don't get to see Coventry buses that much tbh. Thanks for letting me know.

Being around the Volvo ALXs for nearly 10 years I can tell the difference without even thinking about it. Best way to tell the difference is the black surrounds around the front destination display. The bottom bit of the black surrounds is different on Trident/Volvo ALXs. If its smaller it's a Volvo, if not, its a Trident
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

Your a lucky man, the closest I get is a journey on the 97 !

Very few Volvo B9TL/AD E400s in the UK, 3 at London General, 5 at East Yorkshire and 1 was built and appeared in Arriva livery (SN56AWY) but no idea where that is, certainly not with any Arriva operator.  Dublin Bus have lots of B9/AD E400s, and I think some were built for Hong Kong.  Go South Coast have a B7TL with a E400 body which I think was a demonstrator.
