Lost track when did all the info cme through about PB's En400 going to YW. Anyone know about the plans to upgrade 45/47/94 or they likely to get new stock now? Thank you.

Mon this week when 4731 turned up at YW & 4348 at PE,

4725 & 4726 have since moved to YW, with 4353 moving to PE last night by the looks of it after the first 3 E400's entered service at PB i.e. 4915, 4916 & 4918

If the 45 & 47 are being upgraded, I would think it would now be with new E400's either Feb 2014 to coincide with the South B'ham review or as soon as NX 2014 bus orders start to arrive. As for the 94, no idea now the 07/57 E400's have gone to YW.

I think the 94 will be 'upgraded' with Geminis. There are a lot more regular on the 94 these days.

Possibly, may be a batch will be branded from 4475-4502 & 4515/6. But that would result in another PB route being downgraded to older ALX400's. It's unlikely PB will receive anymore new deckers during 2014

May Claribels further prosper with their newer smarter fleet.

Doesn't seem like it now. The plan now is to send the PB E400's to YW and then some YW tridents to got to Pensnett (4348 and 4353 already in service)

One of the evening timetabled 33E's to Perry Barr is ran using a ALX soo take it the 2 that are timetabled are from the 94

The one at 18:15 is the one I'll sometimes see if I'm a bit late from work and that definitely is from the 94, can't vouch for the other one but it'd be a safe bet
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

This is a good way of helping relieving congestion on 33/51 as
City-Perry Barr is the busiest section of this route so
Instead if a 94 running dead to garage run in service as a
33E to Perry Barr relieving conjeston on this part of route

Possible fleet transfer
10 47xx to Yardley Wood
10 YW Trident to Walsall
10 WA Scania to Yardley Wood replace 14xx

It would have been possible previously,

But the ex YW Tridents are heading to PE with 4348 & 4353 noted in service so far, I assume 4349-4352 at least will not be far behind. You proposal could still work, but I suspect PE are down to receive more than 6 x Tridents

It wouldn't work unless Walsall are planning to convert an OmniLink route to double decker operation, as they would be losing OmniLinks for Tridents.

I do see where lynx1103 is coming from, replacing the last Yardley Wood B10Ls

9 enviro from PB to YW
9 trident from YW to WA for 10/10A
9 Scania from WA to YW to replace B10L

311/313 converted to B7RLE

Best thing I read today is Reiss' suggestion that the bendy Scanias should go to YW, so they can use them on "2 and 3 and other routes that don't have tight turns"  ;D
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

They don't get any better.........

I'd love to see a bendybus doing the turn from Yardley Wood Road onto High St on the 2, the omnilinks now only just do it.

Has Reiss ever rode the 2 between Yardley Wood and the Maypole (Daisy Farm Road)? The Tridents sometimes struggle down the narrow roads when cars are parked on both sides, so would love to see a Bendi there

Stu

Not to mention the 3 route between Acocks Green and Gospel Oak, the Tridents can just about get around the Pool Farm Road area  ;D

Just throwing it out there, but couldn't the 94 be upgraded with cascades from another garage, say for instance, if the Dudley Road were to get upgraded next year, the Geminis from the Dudley Road could go onto the 94
