Finally managed to ride an Omnicity today, on the full 907 Birmingham - Sutton Coldfield. 4778 was the one I got. I must say I do quite like it, nice and smooth at high speed and reasonably good at pulling off. Not the most interesting engine sound though (rather Omnilink-like unsurprisingly) but all in all quite a nice bus.

That's if you like rattles, did you catch 4718?

They are rattle boxes at times, more than the the E400s rattle but do look nice though

John

As well as 1794, 1797 repainted into NXWM is also at Perry Barr on the hour departures from Perry Beeches on the 952,so should leave town around half past each hour

John

Ps Do the people in Wolverhampton know what Perry Barr buses are at V Festival. I know 4245 is from 4006's picture. I guess this is why 1794/1797 are at Perry Barr this weekend

No, the way i worded that. Just 1797 is on the 952. I should have said they have both been seen at Perry Barr this weekend

Sorry Nathan  :)

Tony

Yes two Omnilinks are Bordesley's contribution to V, by releasing extra B7s from PB

Rode 4300 today on the 94, and I've gotta say it's such a shoddy bus. The Vodafone all-over wrap just looks tacky and completely destroys any good looks the bus might have had. Add on the severely worn seats and insane amounts of etching on the upper deck, and of course the decade old livery and you've got a shed. Although to be honest, a lot of ALX400s at WB are in a disgraceful state. It's high time they started refurbishing the buses that REALLY need refurbishment rather than practically brand new Omnilinks and E400s that still look new. The ALX400s, in my opinion, are an embarrassment to the fleet at the moment.

I passed 4300 while on 94 this afternoon. Thought it looked quite respectable compared with one of the Coventry Vodaphone buses which has white lower panels on the nearside after a prang a while ago.

I agree with you the 42xx ALX400s on the 94s and 74s do seem to the most grubby buses in the fleet. When were they last repainted?

Tbh the ALX400's with the Vodafone advers should all be repainted into NX livery like 4607/8 currently are

Do the Omnicities regularly appear on all the Sutton lines? Or just the 907?

Ashley 4569

The OmniCity deckers arent really on the scutton lines, just the 907

There was one on the 914 today, hence the question

Gareth

They are not exactly regulars, but they are far from unusual. It's not surprising to see one every now and again.
