Quote from: GoldenSquid on October 15, 2023, 11:02:10 PMAlthough the whole platinum brand is essentially disappearing so there's not point really and I'm pretty certain PB has spare platinum's anyway
Sort of agree @GoldenSquid - its not disappearing as such, though (as I've posted on other threads), the Platinum brand is diluted by the new grey liveries being applied. In a round about way, this should quell passenger concerns psychologically that if a grey bus turns up on an expected Platinum route, then they'll accept it, rather than a crimson or other.

Quote from: Gareth on October 15, 2023, 11:42:04 PMAn E400 seats 77. An E400MMC platinum seats 73. So an E400 is better for the peaks on your X14
Another very good point from @Gareth that bolsters the "any decker on a peak working is better than nothing", indeed, any bus on any route at anytime, is better than no bus running at all.

Its probably gonna get rewrapped as soon as possible because wraps do not do the paintwork any favours tbh like 4799 which has lots of bare metal

Wow that's awful.

I'm guessing it's now destined for a life of overall ads or/and a repaint cost being charged to the ad company.

It wasn't supposed to come out, but a fault was found on the vehicle allocated to the evening peak FD on Friday and that isn't a route you can just not run as the passengers have no alternative. It is getting a new wrap on tomorrow, but may not be out until Friday as the company don't want the advert seen until then.

That's my photo which seems to have caused quite a stir! I understand that from a presentation view, it doesn't look great. But I do agree that any bus is better than no bus...

It's also not like I haven't seen worse. I've seen buses running around with bare metal panels, panels taped on etc. As bad as it sounds, it's just part of the parcel of the industry. Things happen and sometimes you have to send something out that doesn't look the best. Just as long as it's legal and doesn't have any PG9's, then it's fine.

And it was only on the FD as the original bus broke down and that's the only route at PB where passengers can't just wait for the next bus

Yesterday (Mon 30th)

I saw a single deck X3 bulging at the seams and had to leave people.
Other day a single deck 7 again full to capacity leaving stops with people unable to board.

Will PBs double decker allocation be increased at all?
