I've been told that this is because of confusion for customers using the 11's that they think it has WIFI when in two tone colours...

If that's the reason, could they not try and keep them off the 11? It's not as if they're lacking blue/white buses.

Why don't they use slap on some wifi stickers.

I doubt it's because of association with WiFi. So are they never gonna have the new livery in Coventry because people think they have Wifi fitted. I doubt it.

This is what I thought as well. When waiting for the 10 service one time, 4775 appeared to which some people commented, "The blue ones got free wifi!" Even though 4775 doesn't have any stickers on it.
So it is more of a Coventry wide belief that the two tone blue means WIFI.
The problem was that the 47** was the first to be repainted and almost too much marketing was thrown in, this was one of the managers concerns when I spoken to him as he said he was going to send 4836 back to the paint shop to become Blue and White.

I'm sorry but what a complete joke that is. Passengers don't pay any extra for Wi-fi so why does it matter what livery the bus is in? The free wi-fi branding is sufficient to advertise it. Surely the Coventry management want the fleet to look as good as possible, and the two tone blue looks way better than the blue/white 4833 has been painted in. Plus if no other 21 branded buses are repainted blue, then 4836 will be the odd one out in the batch. It will still leave the Coventry fleet non unform even after the Tridents are withdrawn and if the B7RLEs are done which they probably won't now

It's absolutely pathetic, wouldn't it be cheaper to fit wifi on 4836 rather than send it for another repaint? I'm tempted to put in a complaint, that's really really annoyed me!

Interesting, perhaps Coventry will become the sole user of the 'old' livery in years to come! (not yet obviously). Waste of money repainting 4836 it seems. Maybe NXC needs a third 'non-WIFI scheme' livery!!

The NX premium bus brand is Platinum, so all would be resolved presumably if the 11 was upgraded to platinum and the remaining buses would be either the new or the old blue until all are done.

That is presumably the obvious solution - just means Coventry would need a dozen or so Enviro 400 MMC's heading their way. As only those buses are used on Platinum routes seemingly. I can't imagine they'd want 'almost-Platinum' using grey painted older E400's.

This is how I view the two tone blue 47xx buses - an upgrade above standard but not to full Platinum spec. You can see how the public could get confused as these are largely the only two tone blue vehicles. In terms of Platinum buses, how about Streetdecks?!!

No doubt this will all become clearer in due course as the early Tridents will no doubt need replacing later this year anyway.
