NXC now confirm this route change to services 5 and 6/6A which for some reason is now going to commence 1st December.  :D

VOSA is suggesting a route change on NXC services 5 and 6/6A from 27 October... Let me guess....

Only affecting westbound journeys in the Tile Hill direction.
Service 5 adjusted to take the current 6/6A route between Dolomite Avenue/Tile Hill Lane roundabout and Herald Avenue (Sainsbury's).
Service 6/6A therefore short cuts through Herald Avenue.
A [confusing but logical?] tweak creating relevant provision of service and a significant mileage saving and timekeeping help for service 6/6A.
In fact extending the evening and Sunday service 5 journeys from Canley Road to Sainsbury's [plenty of spare time to do so] might be a beneficial link.

1st December seems to be the start of University holidays when reduced timetables begin on routes 11/12 and Stagecoach routes. .
New Centro departure times have already been posted at bus stops around the Uni dated 1st December.

A new one way system outside the council house has been implemented with route 1 towards Tile Hill and 11/12 towards Uni seemingly being permanently diverted via Much Park Street and St. John Street. Two temporary bus stops has been installed, one in each road with road markings. The one in St. John Street has gained a temporary bus shelter with stickers on it stating "Passengers are requested not to obstruct the entrance of the Express and Star building". lt arrived on a lorry last night presumably direct from the Black Country!!

Don't think I've ever seen a bus use those two roads before, although only the 1/11/12 will actually go that way. In days of old before the closure of Broadgate to traffic, many more services used to go the way of Little Park St etc. That road seemed quieter of late. Three temporary [looking] shelters have been erected outside/near the Transport Museum - presumably newer and more permanent shelters will be placed at these locations in due course?

4206 was parked up at the main Cannon Park bus stop between at least 1620 and 1630.
No driver seemed to be around and it was displaying 'Not in Service'.
Does anyone know why this might be?

Most likely a toilet break, waiting time, etc. before working a inbound service 12.
Some of those duties have piles of time for positioning it seems.

NXC are doing a survey on service 11/12 and are hinting about running a "faster" route between Coventry and University of Warwick.

What would you like to see happen?  Here's a few ideas perhaps...
Extension of service 8 and 8A beyond the rail station to the University of Warwick.
A half-hourly "faster" route can cover/replace the City - Cannon Park section of service 18A.

101- Service between City Centre to Ricoh Arena and nearest Arena Park that's only event.

Every Sunday, Mercs will no longer operate on any routes but B7RLE will operate on single decker routes.

Branded Buses- Most time can see which Branded 4 on the 21's and Branded 21 on the 11/12's only. Branded 8/8A & 9/9A &20's is not normal on another routes expect only peak times.

Enviro on service 2 and 3 this afternoon, 4830 if I'm not mistaken.

In New Union Street, in the direction of Little Park St, routes 2, 3, 11, 12 and 21 have now been clustered at the first stop bay, which potentially replicates the scenario at Corporation Street (Co-Op) bus stops, two buses come together and traffic behind unable to pass. Meanwhile the third bay remains disused since it was built. ::)

Service 11/12 could have change frequency, increase more buses and make on turn time right.

On 1st December Centro had changed some stopping locations in Coventry City centre (new interchange guide here).
But NXC had contested the changes (see here) and continued to stop at old locations, but have now agreed to start using the new stop locations from start of service on Thurs 5th Dec with the exception of stand AA, due to roadworks on the kerb opposite and those services remain in Fairfax Street for the time being.  :-\

The following is Centro's revised stopping locations
Hales St:
DD...13/86 (Binley Road)
DE...21 Wood End
Trinity St, two new bays:
AA...2/3/21  Fenside/Willenhall
AB...Stagecoach clusters 15/16/17/18/19 and 55/56/57
The two old bays are recoded as AC and AD
The Burges:
CA...yet another additional stop for service 2/3.
New Union St:
As mentioned yesterday some routes have swapped bays for no apparent reason.

Stand DF opposite at old Fire Station will no longer bus stop and there are worst disadvantage because always another private coach and sometime car always park on bus stop that's 21 E400 still difficult put parking and not safety place. I did seen before 21 E400 and Bendi has no space park on bus stop Stand DF due to two another private Coach parking on that include the car and that passenger still more risk walk to catch bus on the road!!
Now people will happy 21 to Wood End move back to Stand DE means there are more safety and won't problem again ever.

And I can said Centro need changes back on bus station stand. There are reason I can always see 4 and 10 together bus stop at Stand T that behind buses always blocks and make service 4 and 10 going to late. Also many time service 8/8A/9/9A when late buses together two that's bus driver will find another bus stop stand T or V means Service 4 or 10 bus will going again blocks and behind buses will get more blocks.

I guess Service 8/8A/9/9A should back on Stand H and 4 & 10 should back stand K means reduce to blocks but Centro has no plan for changes bus station stand :( I hope next year I can see Centro could plan for improve buses change on Bus Station.

4838 branded 21 on the 11/12 at tonight but not unusually. There always happen E400 branded 21 going on the 11/12 route in around evening and night.


1547 still inside the Coventry garage and awaiting for way to Miller St.
