It says it has a Euro 4 engine. Is that an error (Surely an 02 plated Dart wouldn't have a E4 engine would it?) unless it has been fitted with one?

Lol it does still have a BU05 grill.

And no Nathan it has been fitted with exhaust traps to ensure it meets euro4 for emissions. Allegedly anyway...

nitromatt1

£11.5k. A little optimistic lol. I expect the euro 4 compliance has something to do with that.

Well it has only done 30,000 miles! Surely there's no way that can be true of a 14 year old bus

Hmm, looks doubtful! I remember observing one of AG's Omnilinks on the 37 one evening, and that had racked up nearly 120000 miles according to it's odometer! And that bus was only 4 years old!

They have been used in London though. I read recently somewhere-might have been Tony that posted this-but London vehicles have fairly low mileages as they have been sat in stationary London traffic for much of their lives.

I'm sure earlier, the list on the main page had the mileage as 820,000, then on the actual page for the VIP Dart it was 82,000

Maybe true in some case, but not true in others, certainly a lot of London Buses gain fairly significant mileages.

take the 13 reg Volvo B5LHs which run the 13 route, there are 23 buses for a PVR of 21, plus the Volvos are also used on the night service N13, so it is not uncommon for buses to be used on the 13 for most of the day, return to Edgware for fuel and then come out on night service N13, then in the morning back on the 13 for the day.

According to Government statistics for 2012/3, there were 9,000 London Buses on the road which between them covered 302 million miles, now if my maths is correct that means

302,000,000 divided by 9,000 equates to 33,555 miles per bus.
if we divide 33,555 by 365 days it equates to 92 miles per day.

interestingly, these figures also show a 13% fall in bus usage between 2008/9 and 2012/3 in the West Midlands.

If you want to take a look at the figures yourself, they can be found at

https://www.gov.uk/government/.../annual-bus-statistics-2012-13.pdf‎;
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Thanks JoNi. Not a massive fine then really...

Do we think they'll do much with a 4 vehicle license or not bother and close down completely?

They can probably still continue doing the contract and private hire coach stuff, but it's probably the end of the public bus operation side.

They stated they will never go back into bus operation.
Traffic Commissioner suggested they go into another business e.g. "Double Glazing"

If the repairs on that trident and dart were anything to go by, perhaps best to avoid anything with windows!
