Are VIP going for good. Never to return or is it a temporary thing until they get themselves sorted out ?

So I'm confused... Is the 99 a tendered route of an evening? Cause I saw a vip bus at half 9 last night going through the uni

It is tendered on an evening (from memory the journeys operating after 19:30) and all day on Sundays.  Centro have just officially confirmed on BBC WM that VIP's tenders have been revoked, their last journeys will be on Saturday evening and new operators will be in place with effect from Sunday 10th November.

Hopefully I shall be on one of the VIP tenders tomorrow.

Interestingly on WM, they stated that the tenders are being revoked because of late running and poor performance, no mention of the VOSA visit & the vehicles taken off the road due to poor maintenance.

Thanks for the update. Maybe their plan is to go back to coaches and contracts for private companies and then fit in the 99 and 966 commercially? If VOSA don't take their license off them that is...

Was talking to some old people at the 424 stop at Scott Arms this morning, they were glad VIP's gone saying it was unreliable and singing all the praises for Diamond - this while waiting for a Diamond 424 which was already by this point 10 minutes late and when it did turn up it was a relatively scruffy Solo - says something doesn't it?

People do seem to be on diamond's side after they took over these services. I think the 424 has always had timing issues the problem was that buses a little late is one thing but buses not coming at all is different. And which solo is scruffy? All the ones at long acre are quite smart I would have said?
