Wow, I go on holiday for a week and miss all the exciting stuff.....
Cant wait to see a decent operator on the 424 (not holding out much hope, the route itself dictates it's never really going to prosper)

Didnt it prosper under Zak's/diamond-I would have thought its less of a no hoper than a lot of the other tendered routes out there...

You watch WMSNT get it!!!

I imagine WMSNT will get it myself :) will be nice to more of WMSNT in Birmingham

Not that I've got anything against WMSNT but surely with a S21 licence its really meant for ring and ride style services?

Just seen a dart being towed away, had been gutted. No glass no engine etc
seen it too towed by a yellow truck

Where from? Which dart?

It was an LGH dart and was being towed around by the Jewellery Quater I think (thats where I was heading, cant remember where about it was though!)

Are VIP still free to run journeys on the 99, 101 in the day, or are they affected to?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

I didn't see any on the 99 on Friday coming back from Birmingham, but being as they are not tendered journeys i wondered if theoretically VIP could still run them.

They should still be running them.  They are still registered. They may reappear next week when the few fit buses are not required on the tenders

Fair play to Diamond, I suspect they have a few spare buses knocking around after the recent tender changes just over a week ago

Stu

Which tendered routes exactly are VIP losing to Diamond, and which ones will they continue to run?

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

VIP have lost every tendered route they run, all there tenders are to be operated by Diamond.

VIP will just continue on routes that they run parallel with other operators, eg: 99, 101,  966

Is the 99 tendered on a Sunday? If so then Diamond will run that too won't they?

VIP will continue to run their odd daytime journeys Mon-Sat alongside NXWM. The evening and Sunday 99 journeys will indeed be ran by Diamond. Three different operators on the 99!
