Very rare to see BC platinums with incorrect blinds. Not sure about other routes.
Doubt people who use and have relied on the announcements would agree with your opinion of them being irritating. Previously on the Uni corridor there'd be about 7 or 8 people all requesting to be informed where to get off on the 98/99, think the announcements on the X20/X21/X22 are a much better system of informing people where they can alight.
And a man on the 94, unfamiliar with the area, earlier in this week missed is stop by about 6 stops, if there'd been onboard announcements he probably would have known where to get off.

Once I boarded a First Kernow 47 service and was told by the driver that he knew the stop I wished to alight at, but he wouldn't inform me when the bus got there "because it would be getting dark". Even there was still an additional few hours of daylight left.
Bet a lot of people would have been put off travelling by bus again after encountering him. Again shame there was no announcements in place there.

So lots of people clearly find them useful and they should be in use, in my opinion, so if that's the case its very poor.
It should also be expanded across the whole NX fleet I personally think, no reason why it should only be in place on platinum routes.

I'm not disputing that people who use or rely on them would disagree with me.

I'm saying that people who drive routes like the 50 and do something like 6-7 trips a day would most definitely find them irritating.

They were more useful before when Mr Platinum would say the name of the road and then the stop - e.g. "Gorsey Lane, Oak Avenue".

Well they have to change the blinds on the X1/X2 and X20/X21/X22 due to the fact they interwork. Imagine a X20 comes into brum and should be going out as an X22, instead keeps X20 on displays then all of sudden turns right at the bottom of university, would be a disaster. Same with 61 and 63.
Announcements are very annoying to regulars who have to get on them

Don't notice them after a while and I don't find them annoying either.
And never heard anyone complain about them before either when I've been on them.

Announcements on the X20/X21/X22 are useful I think e.g.
'St Martin's Queensway - For New Street Station', 'Somerset Road - For Vale Village',
'Westmere - For University Conference Centre', etc.
Local Routes
94/95, 11A/11C, 28.

True. A combination of the both then lol. They missed "Wardles Lane - for Landywood Station" on the X51.

And they missed "Perry Avenue for Alexander Stadium," from the X51.

I'm not sure where they were on Saturday, but one was on the 79 yesterday.

Maybe a good idea to catch some 4300's very soon, with the service reductions and cascade plan you may not see some of them again on the streets of WN.
