Did the 257 move due to the 9/141 transferring to PE?

I thought the 255/256/257 were all WN operated?

At one time, Pensnett operated the 257.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

They are! There used to be a 259 from Wall Heath to Stourbridge and that was what interworked with the 256 and the 257 operated by PE.

I think it worked as follows:

Lea Hall closed with several services transfered to Birmingham Central
9/141 transferred from BC to PE along with 4800-29
259 withdrawn (WN operated) and 257 transferred to WN interworking with the 256

Kind of miss the 9/141 being at Birmingham, because as when you they operated from BC you'd get the odd Enviro appear off route, not that with BC the nw enviros havent appeared off route  :)

Wasnt the 259 replaced with the 254, then the 254 replaced with 255E journeys ?

Some have appeared on the 24 and 59

Yes Nathan, the 254 replaced the 259 to Wall Heath, it was then renumbered 255E, to fit in with the full 255

I'm glad they're at Pensnett, because as you said, you get the odd Enviro appearing off route, but on my local routes!

Only need a few E400's at PE, but looking through a few posts, not many are on the 141/9 ?

Did 4800 - 29 ever work;
900/957/97/60/90 when at BC

Almost all of them are on the 141/9! 90% + of the 9/141 boards are Enviro 400 operated with a few exceptions in the morning and evening peaks and of course to cover breakdowns, accidents etc...

Nathan4775

Seems to me, Tridents appear on the 9 a lot with E400 being on routes like X96/276 etc

There's been one on the 90, saw it a few weeks back, I'm pretty sure it was reported on here.

I don't think they did, no. They might have, but not seen by anyone on the forum.

They would never have been on the 90 and 97 because 4800-29 left for Pensnett at the same time the 90 and 97 moved from Lea Hall to Birmingham Central. Also, the 957 was still the 57 and 57A until July 2010 as well, when the Enviros and the 90/97 moved.

The only other routes they were seen on were the 22 and 23 before the hybrids started on those

Yes all that's correct to my knowledge. A large proportion of them (4805-29?) were Hagley Road branded and virtually never strayed, and the remainder 4800-04 were used regularly on the 22/23. I did see one on the 24 once but that's about it.

I saw it once, someone else got there before me reporting it so it definitely happened

Didn't Central have some on the 636 at one stage?

I'm sure they did briefly. My memory is poor of that time so you'll have to forgive me. I think it was when we had some ALX200's taboot.

The ill-fated 20 as well?

They've been on quite a few routes, this batch of E400's. 45/7 61/3 90 to name a few.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.
