I don't think that will ever happen tbh bud

That's what I thought to be honest

Me personally I would like to see something like the 6 or the 67 come to BC but that's me.
Aren't the 65/7 and the 7 on a rota. I mean with the garage closing sometime, I'd imagine it would have to be a route in the east Birmingham too... so possibly 67. Wouldn't think of the 6 tho.

Quote from: Owen on August 24, 2023, 09:33:00 PMThe 14 and X14 swap should have happened January, But they cancel each other out now. So with the X1 going...couldn't that possibly leave a new route for BC to pick up?

Or maybe increase the frequency of an existing route.
Local Routes: 002, 39/39A, X21, 46, 76.
Localish Routes: 18, 23, X22.

Quote from: cardew on August 24, 2023, 06:43:58 PMFor the purchase of the attics. I may have misunderstood if it comes under BSIP.
Just to correct myself, I meant ZEBRA not BSIP (too many acronyms).

I have seen reference to Department For Transport deadlines somewhere but can't find it, I would be surprised if it went past the end of 2024 but who knows. This includes 100 double deckers (in addition to the 300 being discussed) and the 24 artics.

Yes 7 and 65/67 all on same rota, night journeys also interwork

Quote from: Stu on August 24, 2023, 07:38:14 PMI would guess those journeys could 'potentially' be continued to be operated from BC with diesel vehicles, would make sense from an operational point of view.

Depends I suppose on how well they are used, if they only ever carry a handful of passengers, then might end up being scrapped.
Usually quite busy at the airport end

As many local garages closed during the last 30-40 years you're going to get dead mileage on all the routes served by the few garages left. But clever allocations and interworking or odd workings by a different garage can reduce this as much as possible.

The 35 in the future? The much heralded cross city routes plan puts the 35/45/47 into the same "package". Probably more likely for a new "BC South West" garage than for now though.

The 6 was just a wishful thinking moment as I used to use the 6 a lot when I was younger with me mates so would have been quite nice for me to drive a bus down roads I used to take when I was a teen.

If the plan to split BC in two comes to fruition then the 60 will probably just move to the new "BC" site, but the only person who will know anything about any of this is Mr Hunter

It's more likely that the 60 will move to AG when BC closes because there will be a new garage in East Birmingham which is where the 72 will more than likely go to

The 72 + 17 would probably swap for X2 + 60 when the time comes.
( sprint will be abandoned - I doubt people will prefer it to the X2 buses currently)

If the new garage is built with sufficient capacity, there's no need for the 60 to move to AG.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath
