Once all 38 have arrived the 29 will be covered, just be happy you are getting a 5 year upgrade from the 12 plate b7s (you are moaning about 29 getting singles, get a X61 or 63 to Northfield and catch the quieter 29 from there where ever you live) ... I get Tridents with the odd platinum if I'm lucky. I am happy for a bus to turn up!

So quit your moaning or else you will be monkeyjoe mark 2 accept your current buses are only 5 years old and when the platinums arrive you will have the youngest of the whole fleet whilst monkeyjoe has Gemini's on the 94!

Doubtful as the 29 will probably be gone by the time they all arrive anyway. I don't live in Northfield so I can't get the 63 or X61. Yes I am moaning about the singles when they're getting overcrowded on a regular basis, wouldn't you?

I don't really know why he complains. The 94 is very regular and there's nothing wrong with Geminis. Give me a Gemini over a B7RLE anyday.
Local Routes: 002, 39/39A, X21, 46, 76.
Localish Routes: 18, 23, X22.

Single deckers that won't be on there anymore in a week or 2. The 29 will still be operating once all the new buses have arrived, NX are still consulting people on the changes, so it'll be a while before they happen yet.

No, it's definitely not got it anymore. On it again right now on the X1 and it still hasn't gone off once all journey, or even attempted to go off, with yet again, another different driver, so it is obviously no coincidence.
Again, on 6831 now on the X2 and it hasn't gone off once for the whole journey with yet again another different driver. Doors were open for a while too but didn't even attempt to switch off. This has definitely not got stop start. Not taking any other answer.
Favourite buses currently:
871, 1828, 4421, 4764, 6101, 6108, 6116, 6118, 6121, 6848, 6849
Least favourite buses currently:
4203, 4213, 4398, 4419

I think 4880 will transfer to Coventry as well.

6852 is another one that now goes off without the doors having to be open and at traffic lights etc.

You've said you won't take any other answer, but I'll give you mine and if you want, you can ignore it.

As far as I understand, 6759-6854 all have Voith DIWA.6 gearboxes which include Stop Start technology. 2201-2250 also have DIWA.6 gearboxes. Stop start can be disabled through the ECU. (I'm not sure if there's a physical button in the cab that can disable it like there is in cars), and also will not enable in certain scenarios. There may be a fault on some of these buses, or the system is being bypassed by the driver. It won't be a case of some buses in the batch don't have it. They're all identical.

Maybe @Tony can give some clarity on the subject

Thanks for that confirmation.

And there we have it guys. A conclusion. They all have the technology but 6831/2 are disabled.

Any particular reason for this? Perhaps for a fuel economy or battery performance comparison?

(For those not in the know, stop-start systems put more strain on the battery, as the starter motor is used more frequently)
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

2151 sounded horrible earlier, making quite a rattling sound.

I wondered that myself.
