get rid of all the spectras load of cack.

Thought you were talking about the Presidents, then re-read your comment... the Spectras? :o :o

Nothing wrong with Spectras or Presidents!

The Spectras could do with a little internal TLC i.e. at least a re-trim

Oh I agree there definitely the seats are worn out but I think they are too old for refurbishment now tbh

It largely depends on how long they are intending to keep them for? If only 12 months then not worth, if until end of 2016 when DDA comes in for deckers then yes, plus it will add value to them to be sold on rather than scrapped

I would quite like to see Spectras running round in the new shade of red and with the grey dot seas, as much as I love the old Metrobus-style seats

Talking of seats (and I know it's completely unrelated) but I noticed this evening that 4819 has had a TWM seat fitted! Looks very odd in the middle of the Grey/Red colour scheme.

Matt, what do you mean by Metrobus-style seats? 4001 & 4002 have the dark blue moquette i.e. the same as refurbished Metrobuses, 4003 onwards have the lighter blue TWM moquette

Yeah I mean the dark blue moquette - I'm sure more Spectras than that have it! I think many are a mix of the dark blue and light blue seats.

I only rode 4002 for the first time last night, and have never ridden (or even seen) 4001, yet I am used to the dark blue moquette on Spectra seats

I may or may not be right as I haven't been on all Spectras, but I was under the impression that 4001 & 4002 had the dark moquette with red flecks as per B6LE & B10L from new as these were delivered in 1998, then the production batch 4003 onwards had the lighter blue as per the Presidents when new?

Perhaps 4003 - 4022 were delivered with the lighter blue moquette, but have had Metrobus-style moquette used to replace the lighter blue where needed over the years?

As I said, when I picture the interior of a NXWM Spectra in my head, the Metrobus-style seats are present

As I said, I am accustomed to the Metrobus-style seats in Spectras, I don't bother to remember which vehicles but many Spectras have them

Gareth

4001/2 were new with dark blue seats. 4003-22 were new with the light blue style. The Optare buses all seemed to be the first with this new style. Spectra, Excel and Solo, with the Mercs from 1628 following after.
There may be the odd one or two seats retrimmed in the older moquette, but if you are used to that style on Spectras, you must catch 4001/2 a lot.

wilmotm (Matt Wilmot)

As (possibly) the biggest Spectra fan out there I'm afraid Matt I agree with all the other guys and that you're wrong on this one, most have the light blue and orange and some have the third TWM livery with the dark blue and red TWM logos, only 4002 (and 4001) have the Metro red flecks and even then this of course wasn't the original Metrobus moquette

Trident 4609

You usually find the pull down seats at the front have mismatched seats (4019 is one that has a set of 2 seats downstairs with the old metrobusbus/Short Excel moquette.

4001 and 4002 were delivered in the dark blue/Orange moquette as they were delivered 1-2 years before and the seating was standard
