4756 now also branded. Hopefully they have replaced the old temporary logos first!

I don't know if it is the light in the pic you linked to Joe, but the blue does look a bit lighter than the blue of the 51 branding

Liverpool Street

Personally I think it looks untidy with the side destination cutting into the blue branding like that.

On second thoughts it might've been done like that similar to the rear has a cut out for the rear destination, using the blinds as branding in itself. If you know what I mean.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

The blue is lighter than the 51 or 97, and there are at least two variants, pictures on the main site later

Make that at least 3 variants

NXWM seem to have reverted to branding unrefurbished/not new buses which is a shame. The branding is good but it does mean that the 50 doesn't seem to be in line for new buses any time soon. Also, did anyone else notice the 3 tridents on 50E's to the Maypole-?NXWM responding to green bus

Now that is a good idea, reminds me a little bit of the variants of the 002 branding applied to 30806-30811

Have they used multiple shades of blue, or is it just the lighting?

No they are all the same colour, Light was awful this afternoon with the dark clouds and 4762 was moving so I had to use a faster shutter speed which then affects other setting on the camera. 4748 & 4756 were both at stops which means I could use optimum settings.

John

That is really good.

Are there any with the normal 50 branding on the offside, like the nearside branding of 4748 on the picture that Joe linked to?

Excellent idea. Wonder if there'll be one which says "50 for smoking weed"? That always seemed to be a popular pastime on the 50 in the 10 years I lived on the route.

I'm not sure having a pint of beer in the vinyls is a brilliant idea, there is already enough nuisance drinking on these buses without giving it a stamp of approval. Couldn't they have used a cinema ticket or something instead? That's if they insist on using tacky cartoon soundbytes of course, which personally I wouldn't.

I was going to post this but then thought ppl would moan if i did. I do agree though Andy-yeah no one's saying ppl dont drink beer on a night out but having the picture on  the bus looks cheap and downmarket and seems to condone drinking on the bus. Strange-and the branding for early mornings/sundays is lacklustre at best

Depends on how you look at it. It could also be considered a positive message, take the bus, don't drink and drive and all that.

That's true-hadn't thought about that aspect. To be fair, there wouldnt be problems on any bus if it was just beer :P

The message coming from the 50 branding seems similar to the message of the 55 branding: "We operate early mornings, late nights & Sundays, others don't", the new branding seems like a retaliation to TGB's new 50 timetable
