One little round trip I like doing lately when I'm bored is, from my stop near Halesowen:

9 to Bearwood (15 mins)
11A or 48 to Harborne (5 mins)
23 to Bartley Green (20 mins)
002 back home (10 mins)

Usually takes around 1 hour 15 mins including waiting times. Find it quite a nice little trip :)

Or that if the other plans fail ;D

There are some days where plans just go out the window. Or sometimes I don't bother with plans. Bad idea.

Long way to walk isn't it though?

It took us about 40 minutes but we weren't really hurrying. We still beat the 89 though ;)

Grr. Reduced Sunday frequencies. Suppose you get a nice ride when you are able to get the bus.

To be honest, I quite like Sunday service in a way, because I can memorise most timetables quite easily, meaning I can work out which buses to catch, to minimise waiting time

I have a few little round trips I do, I tend to jump on the 35 to the first stop on Harbinger Road, walk up to the 50 terminus, catch a diamond to Kings Heath and 11C back home again. If I have longer I'll stay on all the way to the terminus, 27 to Bournville and 11A home. Another one I do is 35 to Pool Farm, 49 to Cotteridge, 11A home. :P Sometimes I do those in reverse too depends what time of day it is, how much time I've got and what type of bus I'm in the mood for.

I managed to get a rare day off work 2 weeks ago and tried another little adventure! Did the 9 to Stourbridge, the X96 to Merry Hill, the 255 to Wolverhampton, the 529 to Walsall then the X51 back to Birmingham. I have to say it was a great day out. Loved all the hilly bits and the scenery on the 9 and 255 routes. I'm not used to seeing nice scenery in East Birmingham.

Stu

I once did the following:

11C from Acocks Green to Harborne Lane (near the QE)
99 to Halesowen
141 to Merry Hill
222 to Dudley
126 to Broad Street
1 back to Acocks Green

Also:
37 from Acocks Green to Birmingham
904 to Erdington
966 to Airport
900 to Swan Island
11C back to Acocks Green

Finally:
1 from Acocks Green to Broad Street
126 to Wolverhampton
79 to West Bromwich
80 to City Road
11A to Acocks Green
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

With my little sister last week we did

1 Dudley to Wolverhampton
59 Circular (Trying to find 4001, no success)
Stopped off at Bentley Bridge for a Chinese at Cosmo!
69 Wolverhampton to Walsall, fantastic route that, really enjoyed the trip
997 Walsall to Perry Barr, stopped off for some sweets, again a great route
997 Perry Barr to Birmingham
126 Birmingham to Bearwood (For a tour of the city)
140 Bearwood to Dudley (As I find the Wolverhampton Road section of the 126 up to Oldbury boring)
1 Dudley to Home
