Now that the changes for "North Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield Review" have now appeared and effectively became the "North Birmingham and Pheasey Review", what changes would you have made ?

How about :

28 Heartlands Hospital - Dyas Road (every 15 mins)
38 Castle Vale - Dyas Road - Scott Arms (every 15 mins replacing section of 28 and all of 638)
28 and 38 to provide every 7-8 mins Tyburn House - Yenton - Erdington - Dyas Road
28B Tower Hill/Walsall Road - Small Heath (every 30 Mins evenings and Sundays)
638 withdrawn and replaced by 38

907 extended to Falcon Lodge providing a link from Perry and New Oscott to Good Hope Hospital

That would reduce the frequency of the Pelham to Jaguar section of the 28 and eliminate connections from past Castle Vale to Scott Arms

Get rid of the bendis from the 67 and put them on another route, and extend the 67 to Asda Minworth, providing a link from City Centre to Asda Minworth (for NXWM I mean)
Maybe extend the 71A to the Fort Shopping Park instead of terminating at Castle Vale, providing a link from Sutton Coldfield, Minworth, Walmley and Castle Vale to the Fort.

Tony - the reason for my idea is because if their is a RTA on the motorway (which unfortunately happens a lot), the 28 gets held up twice, firstly at Castle Bromwich and secondly at the Scott Arms. My suggestion would only mean each service would only get held up once (28 at Castle Bromwich and 38 at Scott Arms, the section between Castle Vale and Dyas Road has always been busier I should know I've lived on and used the route all my life (43 years !!!)

I was just about to say, the 15 minute frequency between The Clock area and the rest of the route would never wash, although it would make sense to review the 638 in terms of the 28. I also think the 71A to the Fort is a good idea, there is traffic to deal with at times on the A47 and of course it would be an increase the PVR but it's a link that was lost when the 68 went and could do with being restored. I really don't see any point in extending the 67 now that the 71A and 71 cover most of Castle Vale.

Bring back the 68A/C with timetable changes to try make it more reliable.
Also bring back the 123 as this route was useful for me.
The rest of the review though seems pretty decent.

A route between Perry Beeches and Sutton
Extend the 7 to Sutton
Maybe extend more 16 journeys to Great Barr
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

The 68 was always rammed when i saw it at school and peak times, then since PB took over it seemed to be wayyy too frequent, i think every 20 minutes would be ideal. I think an independant like Central buses could make a good go of the former 68 route

I agree.  NWM seem to have failed to find an adequate replacement for the 123.  The Perry Barr - Aston section was never going to work as an extension of the 46, and doubt having it now as part of the 654 will improve matters.

It was a good route 91 minute journey time then drivers usuailly get 20-30 minute layover either end :) now they are mostly on 16 route

Route 68 does seem to be missed/was popular, but surely it didn't make a profit for NXWM otherwise it wouldn't have been retained

Dont quote me on this but think reliability problems killed it off.
