Not sure if it's still the case, but basically everything comes off the 5 in the evening. So at about 7 o clock, All the daytime buses come off. One bus would leave garage and do nights on the 5. The other bus used to come off the 31, which used to come off the 37.

So two buses on the 5 in the evening. They cross over at Shirley/Asda junction, usually. And then 3 for the 31.

I've been on a few 5s and 31s during the day that have interworked. 4503 on the 5 back in July, when were in town the driver changed into a 31. Same goes for 4656 on the 5, it changed into a 31.
