Annoying noise at Dudley Bus Station

Throughout the whole of today all around Dudley Bus Station the speakers were producing a constant low drone with a "bong-bong" every few seconds. It was doing it in the morning and was still doing it in the evening when I came back. It became very annoying for people on a longer wait for a bus (punctuated with the occasional just as irritating "Smoking is not permitted anywhere on this bus station!")

Any ideas what this was?

Are you sure it wasn't the announcements lol I am glad they haven't made Merry Hill Bus Station yet.

Really I thought it was coming from a B6 that was on the 244 when I heard it. But it must have came after one of those Skate Boards are not permitted adverts

All opinions and onions mentioned on here are mine and not those of any employer, current, past, present or future, or presented as fact, unless I prove it otherwise.

No it was unrelated to the announcements, I only mentioned them as they were just as annoying! It's not a B6 "bong" either

Little kids were saying "shut up" at the bonging/droning noise!

Yes I did wonder what the noise was, didn't realise it was going all day, it seemed separate from the announcements and definitely wasn't a bus

It is the emergency help point apparently as was there earlier and still making noise

There are a few aren't they? If you were just passing through you might not have noticed it.

The emergency help points are making the "bloop-bloop" noise, and the droning noise seems to be coming from the speakers around the station

It's doing it everywhere in the station

It has been doing it all week non stop.

Looks as if someone has pressed the emergency help point as there is a red light flashing on the help point which seems to be where noise is coming from.

As Matt said you can hear it across the station.

I suppose it depends how close you are to an emergency help point as most of the noise seems to be coming from them, although like I said the speakers also seem to be droning
