What has replaced 238 service is it 4M?

The 289 replaced the 238 in October when the Sandwell Network Review took place, since then, changes have been made to curtail the route to operate between West Brom & Old Hill only, so in a way, yeah, the 4M has replaced the 238/289
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A

I think it was the old 99 replaced the whole section Birmingham - Merry Hill, as well as replacing the 138/139, as the 99 was withdrawn and replaced by the current 141. Not certian of the date though

I don't know what replaced the 258 locally, in the Merry Hill/Blackheath area

The 99 was a replacement for the 139, effectively just a renumbering, and the 139 replaced the 137 between Birmingham and Merry Hill.

Was it the 99 or 139 which continued to Rusells Hall Hospital at night??
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

That was the 138, Evenings and Sundays, when the 139 ran in the daytime

The first 138 of the evening only went to Brierley Hill

Then the rest to Russells Hall

There was also the 136 which I think ran to Gornal Wood, as did the 137.

The top pic will please Matt, surprised that NE have never considered it worth it to have a bus service between Birmingham & Russells Hall after the 138 was withdrawn.

Yes, 136 was the peak hour variant and ran via Pensnett Trading Estate between Gornal Wood and Brierley Hill, the 137 ran via Tansey Green Road. Other than that they were the same.
