Does anyone know the reason why these buses are being swapped, please? (perhaps buried in another thread?) Thanks

If they do!

Have NXWM not really decided then? Maybe there could be some sort of negotiation about the maintainance contract instead

That would be the first course of action before going to the hassle of having to debrand / transfer them out of Pensnett

Think we have our answer here.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Why would they swap 09 plate e400s for 57 plate for the sake of a maintenance contract makes no logical sense, better off buying new buses for YW for the 50 service. NX have said they will be buying 130 new buses this year why not 76 e400s  replace all 07/57 + 2 55 plate & 5 57/08 plate Scania d/d. PB 27 new e400 YW 25 E400 cv 10 E400 & WA 14 e400, just my opinion of what I think might happen, 55,07/57/08 buses displaced to BC to replace y reg buses which then replace presidents which then could be used to replace spectras at pl and older buses at other garages.

One thing is for certain. With a fleet of nearly 1600 vehicles, over half of which are 10 years older or more, even with an intake of 130 vehicles per year, there will always be a few batches of battered rotboxes knocking about. It's just a matter of shuffling the pack so that everyone gets to suffer them for a while.

Its the double deck fleet that now needs concentrating on, as the large batches bought during 1999-2002 are all over 10 years old and will soon create another backlog. This years order appear to go someway to start addressing that, but for the next few years the majority of new buses ordered need to be double deckers. Within the next 12 months once the remaining B10L, B6LE, Excel, Solo & mark 1 Mercs have gone, the single deck fleet will be very modern with the majority new between 2006 upwards

Just in case some of the NXWM board users hadn't picked up from the Coventry sections there are to be 5 new Enviro's coming to a Midlands garage, can any one shed any light/guess where they might be going?

One presumes with such a small order they are going to a garage that already operates the Enviro type and from a personal perspective hope they end up at PE!

Have a feeling it maybe YW they go to.

BU07 LGO

YW seems logical been as theyve got 4799 and was expeting an increase of 5 with the PE swap plan that fell through

notepanel

There's probably not enough of them, but remember Walsall may possibly be requiring a few additional vehicles for the 934 & new 936 routes, working alongside the 935 Enviros.

I'd like to see PE gain more deckers ideally more Enviro 400's, but I imagine PE will be lower priority than the Birmingham garages

don

Just in case the plan to swap the 30 PE E400s for 25 from YW resurfaced, then PE would be short of 5 E400s..........

Except one has already gone, and been replaced with 2154.

I know their the ex premier 997 Gemini's so hi backed seating etc but and some are now branded for the X51 but I would have thought some enviro 400's would been brought in possibly new for the X51 such as 4880-4 allowing the gemini's may be to go to PB for the sutton lines or other services such as the 907 are maybe possibly AG for the outer circle or WB for the Dudley Road/Soho Road services or the 83/89. Also 4680-6 would be ideal for the 900 comfortable dual purpose buses for the stretch on the A45.

Good idea but the issue of type training comes in to it
