Parrys have annonced that due to popular demand they will not be closing and are now organising a 2014 tour season. However the are looking to sell the business as a going consession. Great news I think!

I thought Dave must have changed plans when I knew he'd ordered a new coach, the one just arrived.

rumour has it among the coach grapevine (take it with a pinch of salt) but parry has ordered another 3 new coaches. on the subject of this new one just arrived, would anyone with a doubt over what they intend to do buy over a 1/4 of a million pounds worth of coach to sell on a few months later at a mega loss? still think it was a crafty marketing ploy

Leased or bought though?

Easy to lease a coach for say 7-12 months....a big risk to buy one brand new if the business is likely to close?

The coach as been brought and his designed inside by Parrys..each seat as its on touch screen monitor with full entertainment package. All of the Parrys fleet is owned.

Had a couple of rides on Neoplan W903 MDT today, now with Coniston Coaches, was this with Parrys a while back?

Was new to Parrys in 2000, one of 12 brand new starliners delivered that year. Reamined in the fleet for a little under 3 years. Dont recall who purchased her from us.

9 new coaches will join the fleet in April 2014.  Just 2 of the current fleet will remain in service. The order as been split between two manufactures but will all be powered by MAN engines..All seats will have a personnel entertainment system and Parrys will be the first company in Europe to have this as standard.

Very positive bit of news for Parrys! Any idea of what body these MAN-powered beasts will sport?

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Tired but enjoyed it.

Think the driver was called Mike.

On the way back, we swopped coaches at Hopwood.
