I understand the pressures of putting out a service but it is getting stupid at Arriva Cannock branded 3730 on the 560 as much as it is nice to have a slightly better bus the branding makes it look stupid for stafford hospital 74/5.  Are any other Arriva depots as bad as Cannock they do it all the time rare to see the 1 buses on the 1 or same with the 2 just take the brandng off or better still don't bother unless you can keep the buses on there its just sloppy.

NXWM Spectra

You could make sure that they are on the right routes,
Or even better, debrand the lot, and abolish route branding forever.

The Burton recently route 1 branded deckers now turn up on other routes . The Tamworth branded Scanias have never been kept to the Birmingham routes.  Without discipline route branding just looks plain sloppy and confusing and if kept to leads to an inflexible = inefficient use of buses.
Only Guy Arabs (a choice of 63) stopped at my front door 1957-1964!

For the sake of balance, it does look good when done well-trent barton and go north east spring to mind-however I agree that when these buses are on the wrong routes it does look poor.

Bob

Arriva Cannock are just poor anyway, theyve got poor written through em like a stick of rock

NXWM are just as bad for using unbranded buses on other routes, elsewhere here someone posted that a '1' branded President was on the 73 today, while '37' branded Omnilinks appear on the 1, 5, 31/A and 71/72 services quite frequently, as well as numerous other branded buses at other garages being used on routes they're not branded for, so does that not make NXWM as bad as Arriva?

From browsing through this area of the forum, it just seems to be a free-for-all, slamming Arriva for operating a clapped-out, not-fit-for-service, ramshackle of an operation.

Does nobody have anything decent to say about Arriva Midlands?

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

The 110 seems to be a well run route with nice geminis and polite drivers and when i visited tamworth at easter even before the citaros arrived it seemed to be a well-run operation. Just a shame that by the sounds of it the rest of the business isnt quite as good.

Bob

Tamworth has a very modern fleet, apart from 4 V reg B6s everything is 08 plate upwards. Cannock have a fleet of tatty, knackered Darts, SB120s with the worst condition interiors Ive ever seen, loads worse than any nxwm bus ive been on, and knackered sounding old B10BLEs, and the route. branded no1 SB200s. They are far worse at using branded buses on the wrong routes than nxwm, every day youll find it happening in most of Cannocks services. The fleet there is also badly maintained. The only half decent buses are the newer SB200s and even one of these is in Leicester Local Linx turn up & go livery ffs!!! Poor

Its not arriva midlands as some garages have good buses and are run well its mainly cannock just a dumping ground for other depots crap and tarted up as you say you cant polish a doo doo will keep it clean

Bob, have u been on some of nxwm tridents? Threadbare seats filthy floors and windows and no heating. Say what u may about arriva but there iterior bus cleanliness knocks spots of nxwm.

In this case I agree interiors are cleaner on Arriva buses one good thing about the shires not so many chavs (except chadsmoor) and poor heating seems to be a norm on most modern buses just cold in winter hot in summer poor ventelation too for driver and public

I agree, Cannock have a shit fleet, they could do with some shiny new Pulsars...

Oh, wait, they do have them....

Bob

They have new Pulsars yea, the Arriva website said 'brand new buses for Cannock routes 60 & 825', yet they are spread about on every route Cannock operates! Says it all!

jc

You will always struggle to keep branded buses on routes, mainly due to breakdowns and unexpected circumstances however, the way certain posters seem to sound on here, its as though if the bus is branded for another route the service its on shouldn't run even if it is the last bus serviceable in the garage. Every time i have used Arriva there usually on time or a few minutes late but always with a friendly driver that seems to be happy doing the job and actually know what there doing!

There always must be a problem at Cannock go to Cannock regular always at least one branded bus on a different route it happens everyday even on Sundays when virtually nothing runs.  I am not saying it cant be used but it happens too often try reading the other comments first.

New Pulsar on 2 service stuck that in your pipe NX4737 if a website states new buses for certain routes they should either be on them or the website should just state new buses for Cannock area.  Nothing has changed since I worked for them they had new buses for the 33 at the time and were on Pye greens after a day as a supervisor was on that board and did not want a shit bus.
