Don't Coventry put B7RLEs out on Sundays to cover normally Merc-operated routes?

No, there are five Mercs out today on 2/3 and 23, 5 and 16.
Noticed Merc 1607 on 43 in West Brom last Sunday so its not only Coventry's bus users that are forced to ride on old bangers on a Sunday!

Nathan
The 4 never has Bendys on a Sunday so that the route can covered by any driver especially at short notice.
Used to be all Merc on Sunday but usually ALX400s nowadays.
Only a small number of drivers are trained to drive Bendys in Coventry. They have their own rota which also covers all trips on route 21 boards which can be operated by Bendys.

Yes, WB is the only NXWM garage to usually send their Mercs out on a Sunday.

At Wolverhampton, the routes normally operated by Mercs are the 11, 25, 27, 32, 33, 81 & 82. On a Sunday, the 11 is operated with B7RLEs, the 25 & 27 interwork with each other and operate with B7RLEs, the 32 & 33 interwork with the 79 and operate with Tridents, the 81 is operated by Diamond, and the 82 by Arriva.

At Pensnett, the routes normally operated by Mercs are the X96, 53/289, 205, 243/4, 276 and 297. On a Sunday, the X96 is operated by B7RLEs, the 53 is operated by Diamond, the 289 is operated by WB garage, the 205 is operated by Diamond, the 243/4 operate with B7RLEs, the 276 operates with B7RLEs and the 297 with B7RLEs.

It's not unheard of for an X96-branded Merc to appear on a Sunday, but that's about it.

Thanks nitromatt1 for info guessed they are few and far between.

Thanks Nathan there must be hardly any Bendys used on Sundays in the whole country except at airports, where Boris said they belonged in the first place!

No, most Sundays all 3 buses on the 243/4 are B7RLEs. It is unusual now to see a Merc out on a Sunday

The only WB services that use Mercs on Sundays are the 42, 43, 48 & the 83/89 usually has 1. The 40, 45, 46, 47/A, 49 & 289 use E200s
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Never seen a WB 289 yet, would've thought they'd use Mercs. Has it always been an E200 each week?

I saw it in its third week of service (on a Sunday) and 813 was on it. 821 was on it today. It's probably best to assume a spare E200 is used, the loadings on a Sunday don't justify a full size single decker from what I've seen
