For a while now, I have had the idea of creating a hand-held display.
The sort of thing where you would type in a route number, and then based on that number choose from appropriate destinations.

Can anyone give any insight into how it might be created, which programming languages might be most appropriate, and how to get this running on a hand-held device?

To be used on what!?.. Surely the same kind of software that is used in destination blinds.

If -- as a member of the public -- I am able to buy the same software as is used by commercial companies, then that will do me absolutely fine!
