Thanks for the correction matt :)544 and 554 are easily mistaken.

4361 BC-WA?

508/554/5/81/82 PE-WN

1678 WN-CV(Currently at WA paintshop according to Driver03

4200/1 BC-PE

Find that very strange, repainting a Merc that has very limited time left before withdrawl?

If it's moving to CV it would have to be painted into NXC colours

The newer O405Ns 1628+ will more than likely have a few years left with NX before withdrawal

1678 only req front end respray they respayed 586/662 when they left cov 1678 may have low mileage, higher residual value.

Possible, but when i asked Simon if there was a chance if 1633, 1645 & 1646 could have a new coat of paint to tidy them up a bit, he replied " In terms of 1633, 1645 and 1646 we feel that the resources available to us for repainting and refurbishment are best used on vehicles which will remain in service for some years to come", so i think the Mercs are now on borrowed time.

Stu, you beat me to it

Looking at it another way though, that could just be certain garages ;)

As PE has the largest allocation of Mercs and Mark II Mercs are also entering the training fleet is expect most if not all could be gone by June 2015 by which time there will be 300 extra shinny new buses on WM roads

4361 BC-WA?

4361 is a Yarlwood bus. Would be surprised if it were a permanent move given that 4358/9 have moved to YW to fill the number sequence of 43xxs there. Is / was it a 'tunnel spare' like 1930 which was on the 952 last week?

Yes you are correct, I remember that now - so not a tunnel spare. Would still be surprised if it were a permanent move though.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

I wish he were a member of this forum.

No problem John, thanks. It does make sense to transfer them. Shame as they were fast buses.
