No but I mean in service everyday.

Dundee's oldest service buses are also 1996 P-reg B10L

Oldest buses in Dundee's fleet are N-reg 1366 B10B trainer & N-reg trainer 7419 former Travel Yourbus DAF/Ikarus

I believe the oldest service bus in the nxwm fleet is 502, it will be 17 years old in September.

And showing it!

Older then most the people on this forum!

Than two people you mean lol.

A bit of jest my friend.

Don't worry I know ;)

Good good..

I will still like to see an early Trident to get scrapped. If you drive them you'll know why.

I don't drive them, so tell me, why? :P

Oh yeah lol..

Brakes only work if you stand on the pedal, you need to be Arnold to turn the steering wheel, the things are falling apart and are extremely slow at pulling off. The interlock aren't sensitive enough and the doors take half a year to close. The seats are uncomfortable and you can't ever get a good position. Some of the steering wheels you can't adjust and the pedals are at a right angle to your foot. You'll get severe cramp in your right knee and your left shoulder will ache after a trip cause the steering is crap. The wipers are always perished and the lights might as well be candles. The mirror arms are either loose or out at a 45° angle and the retarder is useless. Interior lighting seems dim and the lack of CCTV screen in cab is annoying. Show them a gradient and you'll be lucky to get 20mph out of them. Even after extensive refurbishment they're still crap. An old 44xx is much better then them. Anything else?

I must admit I have never been a fan of the older tridents although I love the modern ones, 53 plate onwards generally. I'm not sure which is slower, a 51 plate trident, or a B7 ALX of the same age!

No it's not too bad! I quite like 502, its better than some of Pensnett's S reg Mercs which do really look their 15 years

I'm sure I've got DVT due to those buses..

Hmm.. I'll say 51 plated Trident is slower, generally. From my personal experience B7 Volvos rev higher and pick up speed from a standstill better. There seems to be so much lag from old Tridents. Again, personally, I couldn't fault the B7-ALX's, the brakes were smoother, light steering and all in all a better bus, in my opinion. The only thing is they looked old even when new, with a high fascia and round rear window. Still the better looking bus out the two. Definitely a drivers bus I'd say.

I think Matt is referring to 502 being really slow. We caught it on the 244 the other week and it just about got around hayley green. I could walk faster than what speed 502 was going at.

502 has never been a fast B6, followed it up Barrs Road the other day, took for ever, then when it turned into Valley Road, struggled to get away. 508 is far superior in my eyes.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Anyone had the unfortunate pleasure to be near 638? That was, by far, the slowest bus I have ever driven in my entire life. I believe it has been raped all over the black country prior to us having it for 9 long months (Subtle joke there..). Luckily I dont remember when this particular heap was new. Well I wouldn't, cause it was West Brom's to begin with.

Trident 4609

638 is at WN so i see it regually.

Unfortunately for you!! Did they do any work on it?

Trident 4609

Doesn't look like it. I wouldn't know as i don't work for NX.

BCMobile

I know but it should be obvious. Whats the usual route allocation of this vehicle, 4609?

555 is by far the fastest and best B6 I've been on. It absolutely flies, I don't know what people like about 508 as it seems feeble in comparison and sounds boring

Drove it at Walsall. Not the best of B6. But 639/640 great buses .

They are all crap!!! slow, underpowered, won't go up hills, unreliable, faulty buzzers & gauges, uncomfortable seating position, won't go round bends.....but I kinda like em for some reason.....
Hands up who named 620 'Spirit'????? I love that and think it sums these dreadfull buses up they have plenty of spirit (stick with me on this son) it's like the're the last fighting survivers of the 'real' bus era it's like the O405N's they are turning plastic but still smell of diesel and leave oil everywhere.
Gone or going are those days...In the future I don't think it will be so painful watching a Wright bodied B5 getting crushed or see one rotting in a field!!
Enviro 200 Rebels......Venturing Out Into New Territory's!!

Well 555 is one of my favourite buses in the whole fleet. B6s have more personality than any B7.
