Confirmed tridents staying at WN for definate are 4535-4609.

Looks like loosing the early ones.

As 9 of the new Hybrids appear to be about to enter service, I noticed there appear to be only 11 of these earlier Tridents at WN?  Anyone any idea what the other 10 will replace? Mercs, Spectras or perhaps something newer for cascade?

I was told PL have 75 tridents some were going to YW except the ones mentioned for the 529 the spectras I was told were staying but got do with getting rid but no more B6's the state we got one from PN 601 I think was dire. Keep the scrap away and the mercs are becoming knackered too hopefully something newer but with the eventual 21 hybrids PL will have the youngest avarage fleet so not much chance of newer stuff for many years.

According to Tony's fleetlist, WN have 13 earlier Tridents.
Also someone mentioned elsewhere that the 2 oldest WN Mercs will be heading to PE and that the Spectras look to be staying at WN.
We'll get rid of your bus to Wolves and replace it with one to Walsall instead.......... Oh the joy of a Network Review. -_-

BN also posted that the Excels were being withdrawn.

The 21 vehicles being replaced probably consist of the 5 remaining Excels, 3 Mercs (1543, 1545 and 1690) and the aforementioned 13 oldest Tridents.

Yes, looks most likely - I'd forgotten about the Excels. I will be curious to see what the Tridents replace at their new home(s) - no doubt a couple of Presidents to Scotland will be one consequence.

I'd do this. Totally unofficial, no insider knowledge.

4135, 4305-12, 4320, 4321 WN to BC
4384, 4385 WN to YW
4358, 4359, 4390, 4393 BC to YW
4084, 4085, 4086 YW to WB (to convert the 5 to 100% President operation)
4120, 4121, 4122 YW to Dundee

It would be ideal for the 5 to be 100% president operation and both 4085/4086 were both transferred to WB for the 451 (now 5) originally when the service was upgraded and 4084 was at WB as well not so long ago.

and what deckers would be use on the 59/126/79 spectras (126 goes to Brum need late plate buses)  we want rid of the things they are old and reliablity is not good the hybrids can only go on one route and the 529 will have most of the newer tridents.

Discodave,

At present the intention is that WN will retain all 75 x Transbus Tridents 53/04 & 54 plate i.e. 4535-4609, so there are plenty of newer model Tridents to go round

Yep Winston. I thought it was patently obvious that Wolverhampton would soon have 21 spare Tridents to play with once all the hybrids entered service.

Yep Pete, maybe not the full 21 though as it now sounds as though the last 5 Excels & two R-reg Mercs at least are down for withdrawal/cascade i.e. 1543 & 1545 (shame they can't send 1546 to Pensnett which has at least had a refurb). So I make that 14 Tridents available for cascade to BC & YW?

Well there are only 13 'older' Tridents left. So 8 single decks would go in that case. Depends if 4001 does actually return to the road too. That would make it 14/7.

Agreed, counted your proposed cascades after I'd already replied

1546 and 1549 will be surplus to requirements from 28 April anyway it seems. That would be the end of the older Merc at WN (assuming 1543 and 1545 do go this weekend)

yep, there's the 651 & X1 cancellations which should allow for further withdrawals, but the North B'ham review could increase the Pvr in that area if the most recent reviews are anything to go by

Do we know if the predicted transfer of 1543 & 1545 from WN to PE has taken place today?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

PE should also of gained some further Mercs from WB after taking over their 53 / 289 duties.

Saw 1543 on the 244 this morning, but didn't notice any other new Mercs to PE

I popped down the garage around lunchtime, nothing new parked up there, any further additions must have all been out

Do find it strange that 1690 - 2 were chosen to become driver trainers, surely it would have been better for 1543 & 1545 to become driver trainers and the younger Mercs to stay in service?
