I think you may be right, with Geminis (perhaps Crimson ones?) being used on the 72.

Either way, wasn't the introduction of the E200s on the 71/72 part of some 'quality partnership' agreement with Centro/TfWM?

I thought the 71/72 got upgraded as part of the too, must be the same as the previous lot of qp scheme prime or what ever it's called that went to pot as well.

Some details are now on NXWM website (service changes page)
http://nxbus.co.uk/west-midlands/information/service-changes/black-country-service-changes-from-sunday-11th-june-
are as follows:

Service 79 - Wolverhampton - West Bromwich

Extra journeys will operate between Wolverhampton and Bilston due to the closure of the Metro line between Priestfield and Wolverhampton City Centre.

Between Wolverhampton and Bilston, the frequency of buses will be increased to up to every 5 minutes on weekday daytimes and every 15 minutes on Sunday daytimes.

The frequency of evening buses will be increased to every 15 minutes on all days of the week.
Revised timetable to reflect the above changes.

Why are all these extra 79s needed, in the past when they have carried out work, it was just normal services with a few extras in the peak hours?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Lmao. It brings a bit of variety to the route I suppose. Nothing can beat Geminis though. Favourite vehicle type in the fleet for me lol

I might need to go back to NX just to drive these ALX400s!
Gemini's are my favourite too! The ALX400s leak water quite bad, well 4300 and 4304 do which are at AG. 4295 is probably my favourite at AG.

4295 is my favorite. 4293 is a nice one at AG as well.
The drivers at AG don't seem to like them for some reason, when stood at the stop outside the garage and they get a B7TL ALX400 on the 11, you often hear them say they were hoping they'd get a Gemini and they wouldn't get a B7TL ALX400.

I'm sure it was part of some agreement along with the X2 (at the time 957), Centro/TFWM were advertising the upgrade on the stops in Sutton a couple of months before it received the upgrade (It was some time round early 2015, about February/March).
Local Routes
94/95, 11A/11C, 28.

All of 4292-4299 are nice. Can't stand the Ex Dundee ones. They can be slow and sluggish, that's probably the reason the drivers prefer the Gemini's.

Aren't the ex-Dundee ones from the very same batch? 4300 - 4304 initially carried Birmingham BU51 plates like all the others, and they were Sutton branded so should be no different from the others at AG.

Yes that's right.

I quite liked the ST02 Volvos when we had then. 4300 was the best I thought

I think that's the one with it's cooling fans on regularly around here. There's one ALX400 always blasting them.

Ever heard or driven 4689? Horrible thing, can't handle hills, it chugs like an old steam train when it can't handle Walsall Road! @John

Can't remember it off the top of my head, more than likely driven it though, had most if not all of the ex-Coventry Geminis. They are a lot slower than the other Geminis

Only ridden 4687 and 4689 lol. I like them, quite nippy. I prefer the ZF Gemini's, proper buses, especially 4481, how I love that bus is realistic!

I love it when the cooling fans are on. When driving on tight roads with buildings, how it echoes with how you rev lol

4518 was a beast. They've fixed it now lol

uniquicity

4240 and 4244 just turned up at Oak Lane
