You could argue WN need to loose some tridents as the 126 runs into Birmingham

Or even they need to get some newer buses at some point in the next 2 years!

True @Rhys S, but of course the 126 is "rumoured" to be going Platinum next year which would mean new buses anyway.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

@Winston Does the age profile of a garage matter that much anyway. Surely over the last couple of years, PEs has vastly improved on what it used to be.

Plus surely if BC have to loose there Tridents within 2 years, then PE would need to loose some as well as some Tridents work services into Birmingham.

@Stuharris 6360 Yes, why would PE want a big batch of Y-reg Tridents that will only have a year or so service left in them? a number of which have never been refurbished & are in early NX livery.

PE Tridents work half hourly services in to B'ham City Centre, therefore the new emission rulings will no doubt be raised to min Euro 3 for such services, Min Euro 4 for higher frequency so it is not an issue other than they wouldn't be able to be used on the 9.

The 126 does not really match the criteria for a 'Platinum' Service. These routes seem to be Express/limited stop services. The 126 is not. However, i think the 126 will be the first route of next years order to recieve standard spec MMC's.

Tbh, i think thatthese Platinum services need to be evenly distributed around the network, otherwise you will never see the likes of Wolverhampton/Dudley/Stourbridge ever getting a Platinum service will be nil.

Yes, but Pensnett has routes the 44xx can be used on after May 2017, BC hasn't

Is the idea to use the 44XX Tridents on the 9 then?

All Tridents bar the few that were re-engined are Euro 3. From 2017 the majority of Tridents will be barred from core/high frequency routes entering Birmingham City Centre.

PE will need newer spares than Tridents to cover for the 9 from then onwards
