A general question on people numbers at bus stops. How good is the knoledge?
Is there data out there that counts bus stop users or tells you if a bus stop is well used or not?
Ive not heard of anything but who knows.

Would Bus operators have some idea? Based on pass scans/tickets purchased etc?

When I was a student at Bournville College years ago there were stops that didn't really needed. There was a one moment where one of the student decided to stop after Job Centre Longbridge and the other students giving the stare. It's good that stop have been blanked out now along with others.

I understand on certain routes in Brum the 50 / 8/ 45 etc, centro or whatever they are called did a pilot where they put certain stops out of use in a bid to speed routes up, think it's either still running or perm in situ. So they must have the data.

And on the Coventry Rd the X1/X2 don't stop at some of the quieter stops, that the 60 serves I think.
The next  stop after the Swan Shopping Centre towards the Wheatsheaf being one.

Yes, it really is as simple as that.

The data will generally not be available to the public though.

11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
