However the mismatched route lengths means the vehicles on the 7A during the Evenings and Sundays will seemingly park up at Coundon for 30 mins each hour. 

I don't know the Coventry network that well anymore, but is there not a nearby route it could interwork with?

The 8's Allesley Park terminus, The Chilterns, is the closest such point possible for interworking, but I can't see that happening/working.

Is this because of the extra school routes they taken on?

CV is keeping an allocation of 147 electrics
