4801 - in need of a repaint?

The old red/white/blue livery weathers much better than Mr Bowkers NX corporate job of red/white. Pensnetts enviros are looking very tired at the moment while Park Lane Tridents that haven't been painted in years look quite fresh

4804 has come back from refurb. Nice new paint job with new shade of red and ultra tidy interior.

Can't say with certainty. But thinking about it I haven't seen it recently.

It would certainly make more sense to me as the first 10 or so Enviro's at PE, all the unbranded ones certainly do seem more worn than the Hagley Road Branded ones, possibly because they have found themselves being used on more than the one route, all over the Black country on routes such as the 246, X96 and 222 which do and did have the Enviro's occasionally attracting more anti-social behaviour in my experience than the 9

4827 didn't go 4817 went in its place as 4827 requires a new gearbox

Very sorry! I have to correct a mistake. It was 4806 that has been repainted. in answer to an earlier question 4827 is still at PG and has not been painted.

Out of interest are the buses lacqured? Maybe that could cause the fading? Strange though how the red used on the TWM livery wasn't prone to fading?

No they are not lacquered. NXWM use two-pack paint.

Surely lacquer would act as a protection similar to on cars?
