The 97 has never gone to Coleshill and isn't 24/7 either.
That's the 51, in regards to the 51N if you read the original post this is from the 90's when there would have been a 24/7 service. The 51N, 944N, 44, etc don't run anymore.

Sorry I meant Chelmsley Wood and yes I read the original post im saying how late it currently runs

It's a shame that there aren't a lot of 24 hr services anymore. Guess there's not much of a demand here like it is in Manchester and London.

There isn't much demand because years of not having night buses has normalised the idea of taxis in Brum. There's just as much nightlife in Brum as there is in Manchester, and those people clearly still have to get home somehow. I don't quite know how it's worked over the years up there but I think  the constant presence of night buses has ensured they're used.

London is a different beast. I've travelled night buses around London that have been pretty empty save for a few bored youths and yet still running every 20 minutes
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

That could be because of the Tube being 24 hour now.

Think the 50 was as well.
Though current timetable on NX Bus site dated 5th July 2020 for the 9 and 50. Seems to show no 24 hour operation.
Is that COVID related or was the night service on the 9 and 50 was dropped quietly at some point?
There is a 3 hour gap between midnight and 3 from Maypole and 1 till 4 from City. I use it whenever I've got an early flight from the airport.

The reason why the 24hr routes didn't work because of their frequency. The 50,63 and 74 were all hourly throughout the night. Maybe if the frequency was a bit higher maybe it will work a little better.

Why?
Exactly. The Metro doesn't go through areas where there could be demand for a 24-hr service. I can see the Walsall-Airport Sprint line becoming 24hr though.
