Wolverhampton Stabbing/Bus Diversion

Last night there was apparantly a stabbing outside a Wolverhampton nightclub by the canal and railway bridge therefore the police have closed the road which has forced bues like the 28E, 59,89,82 to be diverted from wednesfield road right onto springfield road then left onto cannock road then down stafford street and onto the Ring Road.

It was strange to see an 89 on the Cannock Road!

All the buses got diverted from wednesfield road. You do see 59 branded tridents(day return) on the cannock road as they go up there sometimes to and from the garage.

Yeah they sometimes pop up on the 126 or the 529 aswell lol
2059 (newley branded Codsall Clipper) branded for the 5 was on the 2 would you believe yesterday!

yes i saw that yesterday. 2067 was on the 59 all day yesterday aswell as 1888 on the 70A and 1898 on route 89. Apparantly the road could be shut tommorow so the police can carry out more investigations so the diversion still applies tommorow. It will be very busy tommorow down Springfield road and cannock road as you have 18,28,59,59H,63,68,69,89 and 560.

Also trident 4130 made a rare appearance on the 301.

and the 82.

When I first heard about I thought the buses were gonna be diverted down Cullwell/Hilton St (where the 511 used to go) which would have been tight due to the traffic calming and parked cars down there.

Btw I heard the Arriva-operated 82 wasn't taking that same diversion yesterday.
The driver was asking people where they wanted toget off before they got on at the bus station because he was following the 545 route to Deans Road. So if you wanted any of the 82 bus stops before it meets the 545 route, you were out of luck.
I wonder if this was because he didn't know the local area.

Wednesfield road and broad street has been reopened this afternoon so all buses going in normal line of route to W'ton.
