The new crimson livery is almost 1930's BMMO livery as it is!

It must be close to it because when I asked my other half if she liked the new livery she said "why have they painted them in Midland Red livery??!!"

More radically how about using the crimson livery on Black Country, Coventry and Sutton routes with the even more bizarre idea of a deep blue and primrose variation for Birmingham area routes?

Who has the 'rights' for want of a better word, to the Midland Red name & livery?

Would NX just be able to repaint into Midland Red colours or is there a potential legal issue?

....

First painted a Trident in Midland Red colours for an anniversary not too long ago didn't they?

Kinda going back to an original point that was kinda lost. Wasn't saying that NX don't care at all. Just that a major milestone of 100 years of buses left a lot to be desired celebration-wise. Such a missed opportunity there
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

Not sure about WMPTE metrobus blue and cream - much as I'd like to see a modern vehicle in this livery, I'd prefer the silver/blue original TWM livery on a double decker - not sure people would want to celebrate 30 years of the demise of WMPTE - now maybe the 50th anniversary of its creation in 2019.

The one glaring omission in the heritage liveries was the lack of a Midland Red liveried vehicle to represent the 5 garages taken over from them (+ Moseley Road taking the local Digbeth based routes, and Adderley Street yard) in 1973 - a Metrobus in Midland Red heritage livery would have been great.
Personally I don't mind which livery is used Silver/Blue or Blue/Cream I guess for me growing up in the WMPTE era Blue/Cream would be my preference but a DD in the Silver/Blue combo would be just as good

Can I vote for BCT? I know it predates 86 but some 60's throwback would give us a blast from the past

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

I think you can LS as it is blue & cream all be it a darker blue practically black from a distance would look good but it was used for the heritage buses but it could make another comeback  ;D

Isn't 2016 twenty years since we had the Heritage Metros and one Scania as well as 20 years since WMT became TWM? Could be quite a birthday party lol.
