Just seen this, Merchants Coaches operate a Sundays and Bank Holidays only, 606S service between  Cheltenham and Stratford Upon Avon.

They appear to use Optare Versa on it.

So at present it is possible to do Cheltenham to Birmingham by bus only having to change once.

Sad news that Marchants will be ceasing to operate their 3 local bus services from this October  :(

Taken from the news section of their website:

W1, W2 & 606 Service Cancellations From October 2019:

It is with deep regret that notice to withdraw from all local bus services operated by Marchants Coaches Ltd., has been submitted to the Traffic Commissioners.

The last operation dates coincide with the end of the financial support under the short term contract with Gloucestershire County Council and are as follows:

W1 & W2 services on Saturday 26th October 2019

606 service on Sunday 27th October 2019

This decision has not been taken lightly, the concessionary reimbursement rate has been a major issue with the majority of customers being card holders on rural routes.  Constant demands from the County Council and DVSA for more information have added to administration costs. Roadworks causing delays and diversions have severely affected our reliability plus a series of breakdowns with the buses has blemished our reputation.

Passengers are advised to contact the Integrated Transport Unit at Gloucestershire County Council, for details on replacement services and operators.

We would like to thank our valued customers and staff including drivers and operations for your past support and assistance.
