Thinking Of Joining? Please Read: High Volume of Fake/Bot Members

Hi All

Just to make you all aware that recently we have been inundated with an extremely high volume of fake members joining WMBiP. By fake we mean the automated account names and email addresses which just scream dodgy.

The last time this happened we upped the security to try and reduce the amount of spambots joining up.

This time we have upped the registration security even further, with Captcha being utilised fully and you must now answer 6/14 questions when you come to join us.

The questions are easy to answer, however, so it shouldn't put off genuine recruits, but should  be enough to reduce/eliminate the sheer volume of malicious accounts.

Indeed if the bots keep trying to infiltrate our forum, we will have to temporarily disable the ability to join until we have set up further precautionary measures from SMF's hearty database of security addons. If this does occur, we will tell you via this thread.

We are currently running the forum at approximately 90% of the possible security we have, if we run it at 100% then genuine members wouldn't be able to pass through the Captcha.
