I have fond memories of 2653, the first Mk2 Metro new to Harborne garage. Good to see this one hang on for such a long time.

I finally managed to get hold of a photo of the rarest TWM Metrobus, 2662

Excellent, you managed to save his collection.

If I remember right he used to have lots of interesting photo's for inside Selly Oak reserve fleet etc

why was 2662 withdrawn so early?

Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

I haven't taken the complete collection, couldn't afford it! I have got several hundred photographs which include rare beasts like 2662 & 4014 in service, plus a couple of things I don't remember happening, the rarest of which is LPG powered R990FNW (DAF/Pn) with large Arriva logo and name on the front operating in service on the 900

why was 2662 withdrawn so early?

It was stolen by an employee who was drunk one night from Perry Barr garage and very badly damaged

Well, that sentence was a rollercoaster from start to finish! Do you know if he was hurt?

Just a quick note to say how much i (and im sure others) are enjoying the late Ron Morgan collection photos you are posting - some superb shots and interesting how the streets have changed along with the buses!
