The former WMPTE Volvo Ailsa 4760 (JOV 760P) - now with registration number ANC 578A - was being towed along Pedmore Road past Merry Hill this morning at about 10 am.  I was behind it on a 141 bus at the lights at the top of Quarry Bank High Street and it continued down Thorns Road towards Lye.  It was in a dreadful condition.

Does anybody know if this bus is earmarked for preservation ?

Gareth

If it was in such a bad condition, maybe it was a donor vehicle for spare parts for other preserved Ailsas.

Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

I do hope it gets restored. There aren't enough of these around seeing as there were so many of them. So many memories of these, wish I could get to drive one.
