Quick wonder

I do ever wonder why the manufacturers put bizarre carrying capacity's lol :)

Example - Omnilink

Liverpool Street

Oh yes but the B7RLE's have something like 40odd standing.

The reason is, its calculated on average weight of humans and strength of chassis etc. I don't think they use space as a contributing factor. Or at least it doesn't seem that way? Tony has already clarified this in another post.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Hmm ok
Did a search but it produce no result lol :) searching for word seating capacity
They assume average weight maybe we all are very thin? :P

Liverpool Street

MGW - UW = y

Seated Pax + Luggage + Fuel = x

Therefore, y - x = z

z = standing weight

z / average weight of human = Standing Load Volume

I think that's about right.

The Wright Eclipse 2s state a standing capacity of 52. As I stated in the other thread, I'm not sure where this people are expected to stand safely, due to the positioning of the grab-rails. I just got off a 37, with about 15 people standing, including myself, and that was quite uncomfortable.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Was it a B7RLE you were on?

Indeed. And when it had those loadings they were properly full. Tridents are about right with the loadings as well.
