Coventry calling, is there anybody there please?

FYI - Coventry (large population city east of Birmingham)

Found a bus shelter with a very large full size advertising poster on the end panel. Can you tell me why the poster has a happy smiley person (student I guess) 'Escaping the Campus' with the RTI in the picture showing the 50 to Kings Heath!!!!!

There is not much chance of anyone getting on the 50 at this stop and the hourly service at this stop does not go even go into the city centre. The student will be ready for his free OAP pass before the 50 service passes by - he wont be smiling for long waiting here.

Fine no problem earning some advertising money but this poster is not at all relevant to Coventry.  TfWM get real, this is ridiculous!

there's several bus adverts funded by the government talking about routes in Coventry while being in Brum, see them more than I see the ones talking about Birmingham routes. this is also, like a non issue.

Not really, they are just 'generic' adverts promoting bus travel and there's several routes featured, the adverts are displayed across the whole region, not intended to be area-specific.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Clear Channel operate the contract to advertise on TfWM bus shelters (and paid TfWM to do so) - so presumably the advertiser went through them initially.

No, dude you're only 20 miles out, not 200, it's not a problem, especially when TfWM covers *ALL* of the West Midlands, Coventry included. As I said before, I've literally seen more ads in Birmingham talk about Coventry routes than I have Birmingham routes, it's not as big a problem as you're trying to make it out to be, if a problem at all, it's a TfWM ad and it serves its purpose well. Would you be saying the same for an ad about the 6 to Solihull being all the way up in West Bromwich? No. No you wouldn't, the ad serves it general purpose.

This is such a nothingburger conversation that I frankly can't believe you're taking such issue with. It's not like Coventry and the rest of the WM are served by entirely differen't disconnected entites. you're acting like you've seen an ad for a Diamond Bus route that serves Merry Hill, in Coventry. It's not that deep.

Clear Channel... oh, so Bauer's newest toy... that tracks

All opinions and onions mentioned on here are mine and not those of any employer, current, past, present or future, or presented as fact, unless I prove it otherwise.

I think Clear Channel (Europe - the arm recently sold looking at that link) merged with or swallowed up Adshel - a very familiar name in the world of bus shelters. More O'Ferrall Adshel I believe it used to be. In the city of Belfast that name was still widespread. I wonder if the name 'Clear Channel' will continue to be used here?

Why has TfWM in all their regal glory recently decided to stop the NXC 13 and SC 86 calling at stop TS5 Ironmonger Row (back of Primark)?

Talking to an old guy when popping into town he needs to get off the 13/86 at TS5 as he cant manage the hill so now he is stuffed. He reckons there are many others with accessibility problems who have the same problem. Apparently TS5 was always intended as the main drop off point for people with accessibility needs who want Broadgate? He remembered when buses used to serve Broadgate as the heart of the city centre.

He reckons no one knew in advance - so the poor old bus driver is getting abuse when the bus correctly drives past the stop.

If this is correct don't TfWM have some explaining to do?

That map says that it hasn't stopped there since at least 29th September 2024.
Thks for the info. I must have been lucky as I have got off the 13 at TS5 a few times over the last couple of months mainly using quite full services. I reckon drivers are sensibly using their discretion - I wasn't aware the stop had been pulled. In my experience the demand to alight there remains high for all passengers.

Sounds like TfWM might do well to have another look at what they have done.
